Well, Wendy over at Knit and Tonic had a little contest to name this cute sweater that she designed. As you can see, it is a take on a traditional Fair Isle knit, with that certain Wendy flair to it. You'll see, if you read her post, that traditional Fair Isle makes Wendy want to do bad things. So she designed this one with the look of Fair Isle, but without all the fussiness. So, I thought "Fair Enough" was an appropriate moniker for it. And, by George, Fair Enough it is. And by popular vote, no less. Now to really gloat, I won a signed copy of Wendy's new book, custom knits. Score! Can't wait to see the cute projects that she has conjured up along with tips for creating your own customizations.

Sorry, I have neglected this blog and only chime in to brag and gloat. Had to.

Dang! I feel so exposed. I have managed to keep my half-hearted attempt at blogging on the down-low but I started a group (bellababes) on Ravelry so, I'm sure my cover is blown.

This to say - news flash - this site hasn't had much attention from me. I am giving myself to the end of the summer to get it going or I'm gonna hit the delete key. So check back and you will either find some talk about my knitting projects or, you will find me gone from blogger! There. I have a goal with a deadline. Done.

I have been working on my other blog but I have much to add here too -- like a boat load of unfinished projects, sock orphans and the like. The good news is I have high speed internet again. I just need to get myself organized. Right. Organized. Okay. Will do.

Time to Manage?

OK. I just returned from a time management seminar in Wilmington. Before I left I picked up stitches for the neckband on Flair and knit three rows. Progress at last! Now if I can just apply some time management skills to my home life and prioritize, maybe she will be finished by Wednesday. That's my goal. The jailhouse dog is my new grandpuppy, Bella.

A Little Halloween Flair

Why won't I finish this? All that remains is to pick up stitches and knit the neckband, block it and sew on some buttons. I am scared, that's why! Scared that it will not look good on me. Isn't that silly. I am posting this in hopes that I will be shamed into finishing it...

Minimalism

My current knit time is dedicated to finishing the Minimalist Cardigan from the Fall 2007 Interweave Knits. I am liking this pattern. I have finished the back and both the fronts so I am on the home stretch when I cast on for the first sleeve, hopefully tonight. The sweater is knit in moss stitch with with a rolled edge neckband in stockinette that goes down the front. I have actually enjoyed working the moss stitch. I was afraid it would knit up slow and tedious, but it hasn't been bad at all. The yarn is Berroco Ultra Alpaca which is great. It knits up very nice and is a good price at around $8.50 for 215 yds. This is my first experience with it and I will be looking for more patterns to use with it.

Well, I have decided that those interested in knitting, probably don't give two hoots about my non-knitting ramblings. So, I created another page, Nurturing the Muse, to contain everything else.

Now as soon as I get busy with the camera, I will post some current projects. Meanwhile, this and the one up top are of one of my favorite projects to date, the Clapotis (pattern free on knitty). This one is knit with Artyarns Silk Rhapsody (almost three skeins). I love it. I loved knitting it. I love the way it looks. And I even love to wear it! How often does that happen?

I have started another one using Trendsetter Tonalita in Ocean and Skys Blue. It is a little farther along than in the photo, but has been on the back burner all summer. I am doing this one for a dear friend and I need to get working on it be cold weather gets here.
